Job Title: Revenue Recognition Senior Associate

About the Role:

The revenue recognition senior associate plays a crucial role in ensuring that revenue recognition aligns with applicable accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Detailed Reviews: Perform detailed reviews of contracts to ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to revenue and associated accounts.
  • Audit Support: Assist with quarterly and annual external audits, preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Relationship Management: Manage internal relationships within the organization, including operations, general ledger accounting, IT, etc.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform various ad hoc revenue analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Special Projects: Accountable for other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: A bachelor's degree in commerce with 5-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably revenue accounting.
  • Public Accounting Experience: Public accounting and/or professional services or IT industry experience highly preferred.
  • Professional Certifications: CA/CPA or pursuing a CA/CPA is beneficial.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Revenue Recognition Standard: Possess a strong understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition standard and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Communication Skills: Solid oral and written communication skills, detail-oriented and ability to work under pressure.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Workday Experience: Workday experience is an advantage.
