Job Overview:

This role focuses on acquiring technical spare parts and arranging logistics for vessel supply.

  • Purchasing Activities: Manage purchasing activities, including coordinating logistics to deliver spare parts to vessels.
  • Supply Chain Management: Liaise with suppliers worldwide for quotations on annual/bi-annual/5 yearly/10 yearly services of navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, hull cleaning, and technical spare parts.
  • Logistics Coordination: Arrange air freight, sea freight, land transport, and sea transport for spare parts delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with Superintendents for prompt supply of technical spare parts or ship repair jobs or annual services.
  2. Handle purchasing activities as well as arranging logistics to connect the spares to the vessels.
  3. Send enquiry/requisitions to suppliers worldwide for quotations of annual/bi-annual/5 yearly/10 yearly services of navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections & hull cleaning, supply of technical spare parts and anodes bulk purchase, etc
  4. Liaise with vessels on any information required pertaining to requisitions.
  5. Follow up with quotations from suppliers.
  6. Prepare purchase order and delivery order/proforma invoices/packing list, etc.
  7. Assist in logistics arrangement (air freight/sea freight/land transport/sea transport)
  8. Liaise with agents and ships for supply of spare parts and repair services to vessels at convenient ports.
  9. Process invoices – verify vendor invoices against quotations and ensure invoices are processed within the credit term period.
  10. Document filing/printing of Invoices.
  11. Other duties as assigned by Manager/Superintendents.
Requirements:
  • Min. 3 years of experience
  • Must have experience in spares stores services all technical purchasing
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills required
