Insurance Specialist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Insurance Specialist to support our operations.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for verifying insurance benefits and eligibility for various medical services, as well as obtaining prior authorizations efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits for sleep studies, DME, and related procedures.
  • Obtain prior authorizations in a timely manner while maintaining high accuracy standards.
  • Effectively communicate co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance information to patients.
  • Work with diverse insurance plans, including HMO and PPO options.
  • Document and track authorizations within electronic medical record systems and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Establish strong communication channels with patients and insurance companies.
  • Provide assistance to the front office and billing teams when needed.
  • Manage high call volumes with exceptional phone etiquette and attention to detail.

Requirements and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical insurance verification and prior authorization.
  • Strong knowledge of co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance, and various insurance plan types.
  • Familiarity with sleep studies and DME services (desired but not essential).
  • The ability to multitask, remain organized, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent teamwork and a positive attitude.
