Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill a Senior Backend Developer position at our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality APIs and capabilities for web services that power experimentation products.
  • Solve complex technical problems to improve our development process, increase efficiency, and unlock new business opportunities.
  • Take initiative to improve existing solutions, challenge decisions, propose alternative solutions, and address technical debt.
  • Contribute to technical discussions around software architecture and help the team make informed decisions.
  • Refactor and simplify code by introducing design patterns when necessary and guide junior team members in this topic.
  • Identify patterns and underlying issues in complex situations, and find solutions using logical and analytical thinking.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
  • Experience with Java programming language.
  • Proven experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL/Cassandra or similar relational databases.
  • Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Practical experience with API development, GraphQL, and Kafka queues.
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing paradigms.
  • Experience with defining and upholding Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry is an advantage.
