Mortgage Origination Professional

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Origination professional to lead our post-closing review and correspondent experience initiatives in US Home Loan products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Direct day-to-day management, attendance, training, hiring, recruiting, and performance reviews for all team members.
  • Compliance Expertise: Possess working knowledge and hands-on expertise for RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Clients and Partners: Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure a successful close.
  • Customer Experience: Elevate service levels for customers by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing all post-closing requirements quickly.
  • Quality Control: Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to all lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations (for both origination & Correspondence).
  • Training and Development: Develop coaching and training programs for new and existing staff to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Performance Monitoring: Use quality assurance data to build improvement in overall lender decision making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify gaps and document processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Reporting: Build a reporting suite that allows clear communication of performance to team members, peers, management, and Executive Leadership.
  • Loan Production Pipeline: Monitor and oversee loan production pipeline to ensure timely completion.
  • KPIs: Meet departmental KPIs and prepare action plans or correction actions when individual metrics are not met.
  • Communication: Communicate key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and Executive Leadership.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative tasks of the department, including timecards, schedules, vacations, and performance reviews.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Mortgage Origination, Post Closing Review, and Correspondent Experience in US Home Loan products.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including TRID guidelines.
  • Management Experience: Management experience in human resources or operations management.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Supervision and Organization: Good supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  • Judgment Skills: Sound judgment skills essential to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures.
