Visual Interpreter Needed

A proactive, detail-oriented Access Partner is required to support a blind Data & Appliance Analyst working within a global Cloud + AI organisation.

This role bridges accessibility gaps in fast-paced, highly technical environments, enabling the Analyst to do their job.

You'll work closely with the Analyst to provide visual interpretation, data summarization, and navigation assistance within platforms such as Azure Portals, Excel, and Visual Studio.

The client uses JAWS and VoiceOver screen readers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Code Review and Changes: Review, interpret, and make basic code changes.
  • Data Management: Create and manage spreadsheets for data tracking and analysis.
  • Excel Skills: Utilize formulas, pivot tables, and other Excel tools to streamline workflows.
  • Accessibility Support: Assist in converting and formatting documents to meet accessibility standards.
  • Meeting Summaries and Task Follow-ups: Summarize meetings, manage task follow-ups, and track progress in collaboration with team members.

Requirements

  • Basic Coding Knowledge: Basic coding knowledge
  • Code Structure Understanding: Understanding of how code is structured and ability to identify components like classes and functions.
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Data Analysis Skills: Comfortable working with large data sets and using intermediate Excel functions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills
  • Professional Communication: Ability to provide support in a clear, professional manner.
  • Willingness to Learn: Willingness to learn
  • Accessibility Standards Familiarity: Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Technical Environment Adaptability: Comfortable working in a high-speed technical environment with urgency and frequent task-switching.
