Job Purpose:

Effective management of the credit evaluation and control function is crucial for timely collection of receivables, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining a healthy cash flow. This role plays a vital part in supporting business growth while fostering strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management & Governance

  • Lead and manage a team of experienced credit controllers across head office and regional offices.
  • Develop and implement effective credit control procedures (credit limits, policies) and strategies to manage divisional credit exposure.
  • Establish robust governance mechanisms and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for monitoring the credit evaluation and control function.

2. Cash Flow & Financial Coordination

  • Collaborate with the finance function to ensure a healthy cash flow for the division, while driving return on capital employed (ROCE) and working capital optimization.
  • Improve receivables forecasting accuracy and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).

3. Reporting & Analytics

  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports for leadership, regional sales managers, and zonal sales managers to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Publish relevant reports and fact sheets as per leadership requirements, including collection performance summaries, aging analysis, and exception reports.

4. Operational Oversight

  • Coach and support the credit evaluation and control team in managing day-to-day activities using the accounts receivable solution.
  • Expedite the collection of doubtful debts through a defined escalation workflow and timely exception handling.
