Data Migration Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in data migration, with a strong focus on complex data migrations, pipeline development, and data transformation and modeling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, manage, and optimize complex data migrations.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using dbt, AWS, and Redshift to efficiently manage and transform large datasets.
  • Build a deep understanding of recruitment CRMs (people, projects, companies) so the thought process becomes second nature.
  • Own the end-to-end process, including the injection of new data into our production environments and supporting customer success to delight the client during this migration.
  • Establish clear, efficient processes for data handling and write documentation for end-to-end pipeline management.
Requirements:
  • Experienced Applicants:
    • Intelligent: Complex problems require a degree of intelligence (we will use cognitive assessments for this role).
    • Dislike meetings: You prefer fewer meetings, with high-quality, rapid alignment, and then focus time to deliver your tasks.
    • You love focus time and finding things out on your own: We have a very new technical stack that's always building. Our culture is asynchronous, and the people who love working at our company enjoy being left to their own devices to get something done.
  • All applicants:
    • Customer migration experience: You must have conducted a number of customer migrations (+20). This means specifically transforming data in order to onboard a customer into your software or solution.
    • Internal migration experience: We will also consider those who have experience transforming and migrating data as part of a data engineering role. However, please note this is a migration-focused role, and so wouldn't satisfy a candidate who wants to be a generalist data engineer.

  • Bonus per migration: We pay commissions to our migration team upon completion of a migration. This is currently 10% of revenues.

Our team is spread across various locations, and we have a preference for candidates in similar time zones. However, we're open to other locations if there's a reasonable time zone alignment.
