Job Title: Team Lead – Medical Coder

This is a leadership role for medical coders. The team lead will oversee the coding team, ensure accuracy and efficiency in coding processes, and communicate with stakeholders to resolve any issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead audits of coded charts to maintain compliance with industry standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and client requirements.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members.
  • Participate in recruitment and training of medical coders.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert to assist team members with complex coding issues.
  • Liaise with management and other departments to communicate updates and process changes.
  • Prepare performance reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory policies.
  • Maintain data privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in medical coding.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and medical terminology.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with medical coding software, EHRs, and MS Office tools.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical coding practices.
