Job Title: Lead Health Coding Specialist

Location: Vizag, Andhra Pradesh

Work Mode: Onsite

Job Summary:

We seek an experienced and skilled Health Coding Specialist to lead a team of coding professionals at our Vizag office. The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of effective coding strategies, monitor quality and productivity, provide guidance, and serve as a liaison between team members and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular audits of coded charts to ensure compliance with industry standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and client requirements.
  • Develop and implement training programs for team members, focusing on complex coding issues and regulatory policies.
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to communicate updates, process changes, and client requirements.
  • Prepare and share performance reports, highlighting concerns and areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory policies.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy and confidentiality requirements at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Paramedical Science, or related field; advanced degrees/certifications (CPC, CCS, CCA) preferred.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in medical coding.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and medical terminology.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with medical coding software, EHRs, and MS Office tools.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical coding practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with US healthcare clients.
  • Exposure to denial management and revenue cycle management processes.
  • Active coding certification(s).
