Job Title: Big Data

We are seeking an experienced data engineer to join our team.

As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing infrastructure via code and providing strategic advice/recommendations for Azure technologies based on previous research on trends in public cloud environments.

This role requires integration and automation of standardized Azure deployments, in conjunction with orchestration products like Azure DevOps with Terraform, Azure ARM templates, and other modern deployment technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of infrastructure using code.
  • Provide strategic advice/recommendations for Azure technologies.
  • Integrate and automate standardized Azure deployments.
  • Act as the escalation point for level three Azure-related issues.
  • Ensure appropriate gathering of business requirements and their translation into suitable solutions.
  • Maintain and deliver related documentation for design, development, build, and deployment methods used.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience as a data engineer on Azure Cloud.
  • Good knowledge of Pyspark, Azure Data Factory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public cloud environments and industry trends.
  • Significant experience supporting, designing, and developing public cloud solutions via Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and ARM.
  • Extensive DevOps experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in security hardening and testing.
  • Proven ability in creating and updating accurate documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
