Senior Director, JAPAC Privacy

The role of Senior Director, JAPAC Privacy involves leading a team of attorneys responsible for advising on privacy and data protection issues in the Asia-Pacific region.

  • As the leader, you will be responsible for guiding your team to provide expert advice on JAPAC privacy and data protection laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulators.
  • You will work closely with other teams, such as commercial legal and government affairs, to develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Additionally, you will partner with senior leaders to influence the development of JAPAC privacy and data protection policies and guidelines.
  • Your expertise will be critical in providing counsel on complex privacy and security issues related to Salesforce's use of vendors, marketing and sales activities, and employee matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess strong leadership qualities, including judgment, vision, and empathy.
  • At least 12+ years combined experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • At least 6 years in-depth experience on JAPAC privacy and data protection issues.
  • Fluent written and verbal English language skills required.
  • Familiarity with technical concepts in Web applications/cloud computing.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/A or CIPP/E) is desirable.
