Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead multiple teams responsible for software products with far-reaching impacts and outcomes. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, mentor team managers, and ensure the quality and integrity of the software development lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple teams responsible for software products with significant company-wide impacts and outcomes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic vision for the team and associated product area, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Mentor team managers, senior managers, and associate directors on their team who are themselves responsible for their teams and outcomes.
  • Evaluate and improve the SDLC for their teams and identify opportunities for improvement in how the teams work through recommended tools and practices.
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports and skip-level discussions for team members to assess team performance, promote cohesion and camaraderie, and address issues across the organization.
  • Collaborate with product teams to prioritize and scope work effectively.
  • Triage and manage complex production issues efficiently.
Requirements:
  • 15 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6 years of experience managing and leading engineering teams and managing managers.
  • 2 years of experience leading projects using React Native, React JS, Node js, and related frameworks.
  • 2 years of leading teams using agile engineering and planning practices such as TDD, CI, CD, Kanban.
  • 3 years of experience with designing, building, and maintaining high-traffic systems.
  • 2 years of system design using edge caching strategies.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in retail environments.
  • 1 year with any of the following: integrating front-end and middle-tier components with an ML system, building personalization experiences.
  • Able to build and optimize web applications and platforms in a cloud environment with a solid understanding of system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaboration between engineers and product managers.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when working with distributed teams.
  • Able to triage and manage complex production issues efficiently.
