Linux Software Repository Maintainer Job Details

Nakshatra Systems is seeking a skilled Linux software repository maintainer to ensure the integrity of our software repository through updates, upgrades, and patches.

This role involves managing the repository's infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with upstream developers to resolve problems. Proficiency in Languages including C, Python, and Bash scripting is essential for this position.

We are looking for an individual with excellent technical skills, including experience with build system tools like autotools, meson, ninja, cmake, make, pkg-config, and scons. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of CVS and Git, as well as good troubleshooting skills.

In addition to technical expertise, we require strong non-technical skills, such as fluency in English, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to resolve tasks within specified timeframes is also crucial.

The successful candidate will be fluent in English, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have a strong understanding of Linux distributions including Slackware, Red Hat, and Debian. We prioritize candidates with knowledge of these technologies but proficiency in other distributions is also valued.

Our company offers a challenging opportunity for immediate joiners to work on a full-time contract basis remotely for a period of one year. A good broadband internet connection with IPv6 facility is mandatory for remote logins and work. Please note that failing to meet these requirements may result in the termination of the contract.
