Job Overview:

We seek a Senior Production Engineer with 4-7 years of experience to lead and oversee production operations. The role requires expertise in sheet metal fabrication, welding (TIG/MIG for stainless steel), CAD tools, and resource optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise shop floor operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and timely delivery.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize production activities in line with project requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication, TIG/MIG welding for stainless steel assemblies, assembly, and finishing processes.
  • Oversee resource allocation and optimize utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Drive compliance with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure robust inspections.
  • Analyse production KPIs (output, downtime, rejection, efficiency) and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the integration of prototypes and new product designs into the production process in coordination with R&D.
  • Mentor and train production team members on best practices and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in production roles, with at least 2+ years in sheet metal fabrication and welding.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
  • Hands-on expertise in TIG and MIG welding for stainless steel assemblies.
  • Strong background in resource optimization, Kaizen, EHS, and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Language proficiency: English and Tamil (Mandatory), Hindi (Optional).
