Mainframe Expertise Sought

We are looking for a seasoned Mainframe developer with extensive experience in COBOL programming, JCL and DB2 coding and processing. The ideal candidate should be passionate about technology, experienced in developing and managing cutting-edge solutions, and have a strong understanding of SDLC and mainframe batch and online processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-performance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
  • Write and debug REXX scripts for automation and tooling.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Perform impact analysis, code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Provide support for production issues and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Work closely with QA, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support system integration testing.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
  • Familiarity with VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe modernization initiatives or tools.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and mainframe batch and online processing.
  • Experience with debugging tools such as Xpediter, Abend-AID, or File-AID.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems efficiently.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of change management tools like Endevor or ChangeMan.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
