Senior Contract Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with extensive knowledge in international arbitration, contract management, and operational risk mitigation within the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • International Arbitration:
    • Liaise and manage international arbitration proceedings, ensuring compliance with global legal standards and corporate objectives.
  • Contract Management:
    • Oversee end-to-end drafting, review, and negotiation of high-value commercial contracts.
    • Evaluate contracts from a legal and risk perspective, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Handle INCO terms, freight agreements, and vessel-related legal documentation.
  • Claims & Risk Mitigation:
    • Review and oversee legal claims, including vessel claims and operational disputes.
    • Analyse potential liabilities and implement strategies for cost reduction and risk minimization.
    • Provide legal support in procurement-related claims and negotiations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Negotiate with clients, vendors, and third parties on contractual and legal matters.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless communication.
  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
    • Oversight litigation matters, coordinate with external counsel, and represent the company in legal forums.
    • Develop and execute strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum 12–15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a large, listed manufacturing company.
    • Strong understanding of international arbitration, maritime claims, INCO terms, and commercial law.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and legal risk in a dynamic business environment.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling complex claims and contractual matters across global operations.
