Job Overview

The role of a financial analyst is crucial in the APAC region, responsible for managing all monthly financial accounting aspects under the supervision of the Finance Manager. This position requires exceptional skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and effective communication to ensure seamless execution of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions to meet local and US reporting requirements.
  • Setup and input bank transactions into the ledger as journals, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Daily cash management, including producing reports and reviewing daily cash requirements to ensure adequate funding arrangements.
  • Monthly journal postings for depreciation and other necessary accounts, along with updating supporting spreadsheets.
  • Certain Treasury functions, such as making payments, settling Interco invoices, and maintaining optimal cash levels in local bank accounts.
  • Preparing trial balances for relevant countries to meet month-end close US reporting deadlines.
  • Providing essential management information for UK and local needs as required.
  • P&L review, Flux analysis, and input to cost control as needed.
  • Collaboration with the Finance Manager, local advisors, and team members to ensure timely filing of year-end audit, statutory accounts, and tax returns.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations of control accounts, bank accounts, and asset debtor and creditor accounts based on risk category.
  • Effective liaison with other Finance team members within the APAC region and overseas to maintain account integrity.
  • VAT and other local statutory and tax compliance.
  • Ensuring adherence to Group Finance policies and procedures.
  • Primary point of contact for operational managers and local employees of relevant countries.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory.
  • 1-2 years' experience working for a multinational corporation with regional accounting responsibilities is preferred.
  • Experience with accounting systems, preferably Oracle, and knowledge of reporting and reconciliation requirements are necessary.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP is required.
  • Intermediate-level Excel skills and Hyperion experience are desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively when working with colleagues/clients in other countries.
  • Superb written and oral English capabilities are required.
