Job Title: Master of Ceremony

The role of a master of ceremonies at an esteemed institution is paramount in hosting, presenting, and facilitating various events, shows, and functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Event Hosting and Presenting:
    • Host university events, conferences, workshops, seminars, cultural functions, sports events, and other programs.
    • Deliver live commentary and engage with the audience to create a lively atmosphere.
    • Introduce speakers, dignitaries, and guests, ensuring a smooth transition between event segments.
    • Conduct interviews, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions when required.
  2. Audience Engagement:
    • Engage with the audience through interactive elements, ice-breakers, and informative segments.
    • Maintain an energetic, friendly, and professional demeanor to ensure continuous audience engagement.
    • Ensure all event timings are adhered to and manage transitions between segments.
  3. Content Preparation:
    • Work closely with the event team to understand the event theme, objectives, and content.
    • Prepare scripts, speeches, and presentations in alignment with the event's tone and message.
    • Research relevant topics and information to provide accurate and engaging content.
  4. Coordination with Organizers and Teams:
    • Collaborate with event coordinators, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.
    • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the event flow.
  5. Brand Representation:
    • Represent the institution in a positive, professional, and articulate manner during public interactions.
    • Ensure consistent communication of the institution's vision, values, and messages during all events.
  6. Social Media and Digital Engagement:
    • Assist in promoting events through social media platforms and institutional channels.
    • Record short video snippets, interviews, or highlights from the events for promotional use.
    Requirements:
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a master of ceremonies, host, or presenter in a professional setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi/Punjabi is preferred).
    • Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Confident, dynamic, and energetic personality.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected situations during live events.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
