Cost Accountant Role

We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to contribute to our finance team and support leadership in pricing, profitability analysis, and ERP readiness.

This is a foundational finance role that focuses on establishing robust costing systems, project margin tracking, and financial reporting frameworks.

The successful candidate will build and maintain job-wise and vertical-wise cost sheets, track material, labor, transport, and overheads per project, and allocate shared costs across business verticals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of cost accounting principles, experience in project-based or rental-driven businesses, advanced Excel and cost reporting skills, and an understanding of logistics, inventory, and shared cost allocation.

We prefer candidates with CMA (Cost & Management Accountant) certification, 3-6 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in infra, construction, or rentals, and ERP exposure.

The selected candidate will be responsible for creating standard cost templates, monitoring budget vs. actual, coordinating with operations and logistics to validate cost data, and supporting ERP implementation for costing modules.

The position also involves preparing monthly cost reports for leadership and providing clear, actionable insights for decision-making.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain cost sheets for various projects and business verticals
  • Track and analyze project-related costs, including materials, labor, and transportation
  • Allocate shared costs among business units and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Create standardized cost templates and monitor budget variances
  • Collaborate with operational teams to verify cost data and ensure accuracy
  • Support the implementation of ERP systems for cost management modules
  • Prepare and present regular cost reports to leadership
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies
  • Experience working in project-based or rental-driven businesses
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost reporting tools
  • Knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and shared cost allocation techniques
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their applications in cost management
