Head of Quality Assurance

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Quality Assurance (QA) to lead our software quality assurance efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality products and services.

The Head of QA will be responsible for the overall quality of applications, data, and development processes. They will manage and refine our software QA practices, define and report on key quality metrics, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure all system data and applications features meet the highest quality standards.

The Head of QA will also matrix manage a team of QA Engineers, who will focus on building test cases and automating QA workflows. They will report directly to the SVP, Software Engineering, and work closely with the VP of Data and Analytics.

  • Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of QA experience, preferably in software testing.
  • Strong experience with application, data, and API testing, along with a strong understanding of QA manual and automation processes and software testing lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and use of automated testing tools (Agile/Scrum, Playwright, Cucumber, TestRails, Selenium).
  • Good understanding of Web-based technology architecture and data structure.
  • Strong database skills (SQL).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience testing business solutions delivered on SaaS models.
  • Planning, designing, implementation, and use of automated test suites.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the QA strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Establish quality standards, KPIs, and metrics to measure and improve product quality.
  • Process & Methodology:
  • Develop and maintain robust QA processes including test planning, execution, automation, and reporting.
  • Champion Agile and DevOps practices to integrate QA seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct post-mortems and follow up with teams to improve development processes.
  • Automation & Tools:
  • Drive the adoption of test automation frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Evaluate and implement QA technologies that support scalability and innovation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
  • Act as the voice of quality in executive discussions and product planning.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate quality risks early in the development process.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for critical defects and failures.
