Solar Design Professional

At a leading renewable energy company, we seek a highly skilled Solar Design Professional to join our team. This key role involves designing and optimizing solar energy systems, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

The Solar Design Professional will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize solar energy systems, participating in design reviews and meetings. Additionally, they will utilize design software to model system performance, adapt designs based on project needs, and technological advancements.

This role requires preparing and maintaining engineering documentation, adhering to safety, quality, and industry standards. The successful candidate will conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to support project development and progress.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with teams to design and optimize solar energy systems.
  • Software Performance Modelling: Utilize design software to model system performance and adapt designs.
  • Documentation Compliance: Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and industry standards.
  • Site Feasibility Assessments: Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to support project development and progress.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, ETAP, MS Office, Solargraf, Aurora Solar, or other solar-specific design tools.
  • Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation, ability to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of solar energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructure.
