The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing solar energy systems, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

This role involves performance modeling, component evaluation, preparing engineering documentation, and collaborating with teams and regulatory bodies.

By staying updated on industry trends and offering technical support, the Design Engineer contributes to innovative and efficient solar project solutions.

Design and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with teams to design and optimize solar energy systems while participating in design reviews and cross-functional meetings.

Software and Performance Modelling:

  • Utilize design software to model system performance and adapt designs based on project needs and technological advancements.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and industry standards.

Component Selection and System Evaluation:

  • Evaluate and select solar components, analysing performance data to recommend improvements.

Industry Trends and Best Practices:

  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, adapting to new tools and techniques in solar design.

Regulatory Compliance and Permits:

  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to secure permits and ensure projects meet safety and environmental regulations.

Technical Support and Problem Solving:

  • Offer technical support, address challenges, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Aurora Solar or other solar-specific design tools
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Office
  • Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation
  • Understanding of solar energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructure
  • 2-4 years of experience in Design/ Electrical engineering, with a focus on solar energy projects
