Cloud Operations Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, scripting/programming, monitoring, and cost optimization, with a passion for improving reliability and efficiency.

The successful candidate will act as the go-to expert for monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This includes tracking daily/weekly usage, spending patterns, and billing reports, and highlighting anomalies. They will also develop and maintain scripts/automation (Python, Bash, or similar) for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency improvements.

  • Act as the go-to expert for monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Develop and maintain scripts/automation for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency improvements
  • Work with engineering and product teams to right-size compute, storage, and database resources
  • Identify and implement reserved instances, savings plans, auto-scaling policies, and storage lifecycle policies to reduce spend

Key requirements include strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP services (EC2, S3, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, etc.), experience in cloud cost monitoring & optimization, and proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, Shell, etc.).

Requirements

Hands-On Experience: Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, AWS and/or GCP services, and at least one scripting/programming language

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in cloud cost monitoring & optimization, SRE concepts, and prior experience in cost analysis and optimization for enterprise workloads

Skills: Scripting/programming languages, cloud cost monitoring, SRE concepts, automation tools, and cost analysis skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
