Key Role: Application Operations Director

  • Develop and lead high-performing teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Impact and Responsibilities: Drive reliability, performance standards, and automation adoption across critical applications.
  • General & Team Management:
    • Balance daily operations with long-term projects.
    • Drive technology adoption through training and mentoring.
    • Lead, mentor, and transform Application Operations teams into SREs.
    • Create and maintain documentation for systems and processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration.
    • Oversee daily operations and manage shifts.
    • Set roadmaps, derive goals, review, motivate, and support team members.
  • Stability:
    • Establish a SRE practice that improves system stability with Monitoring & AIOps.
    • Analyze system vulnerabilities and address them proactively.
    • Refactor monolithic apps and databases to containerized services.
    • Work with business users to understand needs and develop root cause analysis.
  • Reliability:
    • Monitor system performance and create strategies to improve it.
    • Reduce incidents and MTTR.
    • Develop disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
    • Lead DevOps transformation to improve delivery, reduce costs, and increase velocity of releases.
  • Engineering:
    • Involvement in architecture and development design reviews for new implementation and integration projects.
    • Continuously look for opportunities to automate tasks and simplify processes.
  • Value Stream Alignment:
    • Align with value streams to meet objectives and realize value.
    • Foster knowledge sharing with value streams and reduce dependency on SRE.
    • Help shepherd value streams to improve SRE maturity levels.
