Job Summary

  • Write and optimize database queries to ensure efficient performance.
  • Maintain the security, integrity, and availability of databases.
  • Develop documentation and specifications for technical solutions.
  • Handle common database tasks including upgrades, backups, recoveries, migrations, etc.
  • Profile server resource usage and make adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align business objectives with organizational vision and have a deep understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of market dynamics and propose changes if required.
  • Understand how business complexities impact work areas.
  • Identify trends and analyze performance of self and various branches in assigned geography.
  • Possess expert knowledge of business models, compensation, and agent progression.
  • Develop plans to recruit, develop, and sustain distributors in the long term.
  • Achieve proportionate business contribution from all branches of assigned territory.

Required Skills:

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
  • Knowledge of JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON.
  • PostGIS expertise and grasp of core geospatial concepts.
  • Ability to write high-quality database code without compromising data quality, privacy, or security.
  • Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics, and isolation levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workarounds.
