US Business Tax Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Enrolled Agent (EA) to join our remote tax team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent social skills, in-depth business tax knowledge, and a proven track record of handling complex tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and sign tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and other entities, including forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, 5471, 5472, and others.
    • Stay updated on the latest tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
    • Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis.
  • Tax Planning and Advisory:
    • Provide tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax optimization and cost-saving strategies.
    • Offer guidance on tax-efficient business structures, deductions, and credits.
  • Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting:
    • Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
    • Generate financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements using QuickBooks Online and Wave.
    • Perform periodic financial analysis and provide insights to clients.
  • Project Delivery and Client Communication:
    • Shadow and work closely with the firm owner and communicate with new clients.
    • Deliver tax returns and other projects to clients and handle their inquiries independently.
    • Establish strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Process Development and SOPs:
    • Develop and implement efficient processes and standard operating procedures for firm operations, ensuring consistency and quality in service delivery.
    • Streamline workflow and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Mentoring and Training:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior employees, assisting in their professional development.
    • Conduct training sessions on tax regulations, software tools, and best practices.
    • Review the work of junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
