Job Title

We are seeking a senior-level professional to lead our indirect tax practice. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GST laws and regulations, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • About the Role:
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to take on a leadership position and drive the growth of our indirect tax practice.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading client engagements, mentoring teams, and staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Leadership and Management: Lead end-to-end GST and indirect tax advisory assignments, including structuring, impact analysis, and compliance reviews.
  2. Technical Analysis: Provide technical analysis on complex IDT issues, draft client memos, and prepare regulatory submissions.
  3. Litigation Strategy: Drive litigation strategy, including preparing replies, appeals, and representing clients before tax authorities.
  4. Mentorship and Development: Supervise and mentor teams on technical execution, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  5. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point.
  6. Practice Development: Actively contribute to practice development through capability-building, thought leadership, and client engagement initiatives.
  7. Stay Up-to-Date: Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes, judicial trends, and sector-specific IDT developments.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Chartered Accountant with 8–12 years of relevant experience in indirect taxation.
  • Key Skills: Strong command over GST laws, including place of supply, ITC rules, and procedural aspects. Exposure to Customs or Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) is a plus.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to translate legal nuances into practical, business-friendly solutions. Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple stakeholders across clients, teams, and regulators. Experience in consulting firms, boutique tax practices, or in-house tax teams preferred.
