This role requires a seasoned database professional to oversee the development and implementation of high-performance databases in an Oracle environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Oracle database architecture, including data storage, indexing, and query optimization. Proficiency in performance tuning using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining database objects, such as tablespaces, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms. They will also monitor database performance, ensuring optimal memory usage, backups, active sessions, and long-running queries.

Furthermore, the Database Administrator will support ongoing efforts for multiple database re-platforming to Exadata, review and implement data loading scripts for Golden Gate data replication, and optimize SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting database operations, including performance monitoring and query optimization
  • Creating and maintaining database objects, such as tablespaces, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms
  • Monitoring database performance for memory usage, backups, active sessions, and long-running queries

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess strong technical and communication skills to convey findings and recommendations effectively to large groups.

Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including Oracle Exadata experience
  • Extensive knowledge of database data movement and processing, including Golden Gate and Informatica ETL
  • Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology
  • Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Works well in a team environment
