Job Overview

This is a critical leadership role responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the credit underwriting process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be accountable for leading a team in designing and executing plans to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the underwriting process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective underwriting policies that balance risk and reward.
  • Collaborating with the Data Science team to analyze and validate underwriting models, identifying areas for improvement and recommending data-driven solutions.
  • Determining performance benchmarks and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Automating credit policies to minimize manual intervention in assessing creditworthiness.
  • Determining optimal pricing based on segmentation analysis.
  • Standardizing policies and processes to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Monitoring portfolio profitability and funnel metrics, including risk thresholds.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team towards achieving common goals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in data analytics, model validation, policy formulation, portfolio management, stakeholder management, and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in R/Python, SQL, Advanced Excel, and other relevant tools.
