Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop modern data warehouse solutions using Databricks and cloud-based platforms.
  • Collaborate with DW/BI leads to understand new ETL pipeline development requirements and provide forward-thinking solutions in data engineering and analytics.
  • Triage issues to identify gaps in existing pipelines and implement fixes.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and develop data models to fulfill those requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Drive technical discussions with client architects and team members to ensure alignment and best practices.
  • Orchestrate data pipelines in scheduler using Airflow.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 years of IT experience and 3+ years of experience in data warehouse/ETL projects.
  • Deep understanding of star and snowflake dimensional modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles.
  • Good understanding of Databricks Data & AI platform and Databricks Delta Lake Architecture.
  • Hands-on experience in SQL, Python, and Spark (PySpark).
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, including AWS and Azure.
  • Desirable to have experience with ETL, batch, and streaming (Kinesis).
  • Experience with Apache Kafka for use with streaming data/event-based data.
  • Experience with other open-source big data products, including Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Impala.
  • Experience with open-source non-relational/NOSQL data repositories, including MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including imaging and geospatial data.
  • Experience working in a Dev/Ops environment with tools such as Terraform, CircleCI, and GIT.
  • Proficiency in RDBMS, complex SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional Certification (desirable).
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, innovative environment with multiple ongoing concurrent projects.
  • Experience working in Agile methodology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
