Our organization seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Garment Merchant to oversee the merchandising process from order inquiry to final shipment. This role requires a strong understanding of garment manufacturing, production timelines, buyer communication, and product development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The primary point of contact between buyers and internal teams will be responsible for managing orders, developing samples, and ensuring timely approvals.
  • They will prepare and manage Time and Action (TNA) calendars for each order, follow up on raw material sourcing, production schedules, and quality parameters.
  • Closely coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of trims and fabrics, monitoring order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to avoid delays.
  • The ideal candidate will also prepare costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers, manage buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations, maintaining all merchandising records, reports, and documentation accurately.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field is required.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems are necessary.
  • The ideal candidate should have knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial.
