Production Manager - Solar Structure Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our solar structure manufacturing unit. This role involves overseeing shop floor operations, managing production targets, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Oversight of shop floor activities ensures timely output.
  • Supervising job placement, material flow, and stage-wise movement during fabrication and assembly is crucial.
  • The ideal candidate will design and execute layout plans for new lines/projects including fixtures, gauges, and equipment installations.
  • Maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), daily production reports, machine logs, and breakdown records is essential.
  • Effective management of in-process inventory and maintenance of efficient flow across the production chain are key responsibilities.
  • Collaboration with R&D and design teams is necessary for smooth onboarding of new products and structure types.
  • Monitoring production costs and resource utilization to meet predefined goals is critical.
  • Enforcement of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards is mandatory.
  • Driving lean manufacturing practices, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts is a key aspect of this role.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality benchmarks and industry certifications specific to solar structure manufacturing is vital.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in solar structure manufacturing or a related metal fabrication industry is necessary.
  • Proficiency in managing production machinery, tooling, and quality control processes is essential.
  • Solid understanding of solar mounting structures and associated fabrication methods is required.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems is beneficial.
  • A working knowledge of ERP systems, MS Excel, and production planning tools is necessary.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage shop floor teams and workflows are essential.
