Job Title: Subsystem Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technical aspects of mass roll-outs of Engineering activities in ATP/ATC for ETCS L1/L2 applications as part of large-scale customer projects within time, budget, and quality framework.
  • Ensure economic success and internal customer satisfaction for ATP/ATC domain in ETCS L1/L2 application projects.
  • Carry the responsibility for the application scope, both technical and commercial.
  • Represent the application scope within the project towards the PM and customer, whilst reporting to the line management (group lead).

Application Planning and Control:

  • Derive comprehensive project objectives from Project Management and provided documents.
  • Prepare project planning and required project documents.
  • Ensure compliance with defined procedures/processes for project controlling and reporting.

Application Implementation:

  • Coordinate complex application implementation with international partners.
  • Ensure that application goals defined with technical management, project management, and all project participants are achieved.

Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership of the ETCS L1/L2 Application team including staff resource planning and coordination with organizational units involved.
  • Manage team setup including Customer Interfacing, System Manager interfacing, Projects Support functions, Quality Management, System Engineering, Hardware and Software Engineering, Test Management, RAMS Management, and Validation.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in electrical engineering or systems engineering preferably with railway specific specialization.
  2. Extensive professional experience (5 years) in railway transportation systems, ideally in rail systems business.
  3. At least 5 years of experience in Engineering (Design) in ATP/ATC scope for ETCS L1/L2 domain.
  4. Hands-on design engineering activities for ETCS L1/L2 trackside.
  5. Extensive knowledge on ETCS L1/L2 operation scenario, national values, terminology, and packets/telegram.
  6. Project executions covering activities like customer interfacing, scope clarification, Design/Engineering planning, and resource allocation.
  7. Knowledge of project management principles for project realization and execution.
  8. Fluent English essential, both written and oral; knowledge of Spanish language an asset.
  9. Excellent communication abilities combined with strong interpersonal skills.
  10. High level of customer and quality orientation together with strong abilities in consulting and implementation.
