Senior Compliance Specialist

The role of the Senior Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal part in ensuring adherence to regulations and guidelines governing unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This encompasses compliance with regulations set by international and national authorities, including Type Certification, CEMILAC, FAA, EASA, Green & Blue UAS, and third-party laboratory tests. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional understanding and hands-on experience working with regulatory frameworks.

This position involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, including product management, validation and verification teams, engineering and electronics teams, software development teams, design and development teams, prototype teams, production teams, certification bodies, DGCA, QCI, BIS, DFI, AUVSI, CEMILAC, and external test laboratories.

  1. Main Responsibilities:
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of products, test requirements, generate requirement proposals, and execution plans along with timeline requirements.
  3. Analyze and understand Tender Documents, Scheme Documents, Compliance Standards, Drone Rules, and generate test requirements proposal and obtain agreements with internal stakeholders.
  4. Ensure accurate TC documentation, tests executions, TC audits, and cooperation with CB for expeditious releases of SoCs.
  5. Work with external stakeholders like CB / ATE, DGCA, and QCI to make them understand product environment and compliances.
  6. Effective communication and collaboration with CB, DGCA, QCI, CEMILAC, DFI, BIS, etc.
  7. Timely study of regulatory drafts and feedbacks in the interest of the organization. Study and analysis of international regulations and preparation of presentations and compliance roadmaps.
  8. Creation and maintenance of Certification roadmap in cooperation with Product management and strict adherence in execution.
  9. Planning and execution of periodic internal audits to identify/compliance risks and implement mitigation measures with respective departments.
  10. Team management, KRAs, and appraisals.

Requirements:

  • B Tech/M Tech in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Technical Compliances, minimum 5 years in UAS industry.
  • Exceptional understanding and hands-on experience working with regulatory frameworks – National/International.
  • Proven experience with product testing, process analysis, and certification activities.
