SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of SQL Database Administrator, specializing in AWS Cloud infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades and Always On Availability Groups.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leverage your knowledge of SQL Server upgrades and Always On Availability Groups to drive business growth and efficiency.
  2. Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  3. Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
  4. Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  5. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  6. Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  7. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  8. Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
