Leading Intellectual Property and Technology Lawyer

About this Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Director to lead our digital technologies, AI and data assets management. This role will work closely with various teams to provide subject matter legal guidance and strategic compliance advisories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise stakeholders on intellectual property rights protection strategies and risk assessment involving trademarks, copyrights, designs, trade secrets and patents.
- Manage and coordinate intellectual property portfolio filings, prosecution, registrations and enforcement in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsels.
- Collaborate with engineering, product and marketing teams on intellectual property risk management, patent strategy and open-source software use and compliance.
- Support IT, cybersecurity, data governance and data sharing initiatives, including data privacy, data security and related compliance and licensing issues.
- Support the implementation of privacy policies and undertake privacy impact assessments across the organization in collaboration with stakeholders on risk mitigation and remediation.
- Conduct intellectual property due diligence and support the drafting of disclosures, warranties and agreements for mergers and acquisitions, strategic and corporate development activities.
- Monitor and advise on emerging technology-related legal developments.
- Review and negotiate a wide range of technology agreements, including software licenses, AI development and deployment agreements, cloud services agreements and technology transfer contracts.
- Develop and improvise relevant internal policies as needed and conduct training sessions on privacy policy, brand management, data retention and AI.
- Collaborate with the Litigation and Disputes team towards defense, enforcement and protection of the organization's interests before courts and tribunals.
