Job Title: Unix Support Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Unix Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unix system administration and excellent problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Level 2 or Level 3 support for Unix systems in a mission-critical banking environment. This includes ensuring compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.

In this role, you will operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge) and maintain high availability, performance, and security of the Unix systems. You will also participate in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning drills and troubleshoot complex incidents.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Provide L2 or L3-level support for Unix in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security; participate in DR/BCP drills.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate with vendors (TAC cases, firmware/patch planning) and validate post-change health.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with operations, security, audit, and business stakeholders.
