Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Engineer to join our team.

As a Cloud Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

This includes ensuring high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.

You will also be responsible for provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.

This involves sizing, scaling, and automation of database resources.

Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups.

This will ensure business continuity and data resilience.

You will also be responsible for planning and executing robust backup and restore operations.

Validate recovery procedures and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).

In addition, you will monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store.

Identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation.

Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques will also be essential.

Familiarity with automation tools and scripting, such as PowerShell and Azure CLI, is also required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role.
