Vacuum Furnace Engineering Leader


This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional to lead the engineering and design team in creating innovative solutions for vacuum furnace applications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocate technical solutions and execution methods in response to sales offers and customer specifications
  • Size and cost technical offers with the sales manager and pre-approve them
  • Monitor projects on a weekly basis and ensure proper technical support is provided to assembly/service support teams and customers
  • Provide engineering management and technical analysis of projects, including design, calculation, component specification, cost estimation, and technical service
  • Participate in conceptual design and development for implementing innovative/upgraded solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Interface with coworkers and customers during design, development, implementation activities, and delivery cycles associated with equipment build
  • Provide analytical problem-solving support to assembly factory/assembly lines and challenges associated with equipment fabrication/assembly/quality/tests, installation & commissioning, and technical service activities
  • Compile complete technical/design and administrative dossier/docs for all customer accounts
  • Review engineering and design for future planning in line with strategic plans
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor/Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Design
  • Design and analysis of mechanical/electrical structures/low/high/ultra-high vacuum systems
  • High Pressure Vessel design/construction
  • High Temperature Hot Zone design/construction
  • Heating Elements/Heat-Shield or Insulation design and construction
  • Heat Exchanger design/construction
  • Hot-zone support structure/Hearth bar design/construction
  • Knowledge about Heat treatment, brazing, carburizing, hardening, annealing, melting, etc.
  • Knowledge and application of various types of materials, surface and thermal treatments for low/high/ultra-high vacuum
  • Hands-on aptitude with an understanding of standard design practices and manufacturing techniques
  • Advanced skills in 2D & 3D CAD software - preferably AutoCAD and Inventor or Solid Works
  • 3D design for vacuum chambers and systems
  • Knowledge and application of numerical modelling in solid mechanics
  • Thermal exchange calculation/Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Finite Element Method (FEM) and Thermo-mechanical simulations analysis
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, vacuum process systems, electrical components, and automation

To excel in this position, you should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of heat treatment processes and have hands-on experience with various types of vacuum equipment.
