Civil Engineer Job Opportunity

One of our esteemed clients is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering, with expertise in steel plant projects and construction management.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction projects, overseeing building work, conducting site surveys, and ensuring that technical designs are followed correctly.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the incumbent will also oversee the supervision of contracted staff, ensure that projects meet agreed specifications, budgets, or timescales, and provide technical advice and problem-solving skills on site.

Other duties will include preparing site reports, liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other professional staff, and ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction projects from inception to completion
  • Oversee building work and conduct site surveys
  • Ensure that technical designs are followed correctly
  • Supervise contracted staff and ensure that they have the necessary training and support
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that it meets agreed specifications, budgets, or timescales
  • Provide technical advice and problem-solving skills on site
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other professional staff
  • Prepare site reports and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in steel plant projects and construction management
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
