Operational Risk Analyst Position

The role involves developing and maintaining risk analytics, regulatory reporting, and system implementation and maintenance.

  • Develop high-quality risk analytics, regulatory reporting, and system implementation and maintenance.
  • Provide solutions to complex issues in modelling and measuring risk, allocation of capital for performance measurement, and other aspects of risk measurement.
  • Develop a risk analytics and/or capital allocation framework for the Corporation.
  • Manage model development validation and quantitative analytical process for risk.
  • Produce regular analytical work and reports.
  • Collaborate with the team responsible for collecting operational loss event data on technical matters related to system implementation.
  • Maintain and enhance operational loss event data collection system functionality, including system testing and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Support internal capital allocation methodologies.
  • Ensure that capital modelling and allocation approaches meet both internal corporate needs and regulatory requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A degree from a reputable college or university is required.
  • Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or equivalent career experience is preferred.
  • Functional and industry knowledge is essential.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change are necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Technical skills, including systems knowledge, such as R, Python, PowerBI, Latex, R Shiny, are required.
  • Conceptual and technical knowledge of risk concepts and quantitative modelling techniques is required.
  • Prior leadership role in a risk measurement capacity is preferred.
  • Understanding of technology solutions for risk management and measurement is required.
  • Knowledge of operational risk management and strategic goals is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Basel and CCAR regulations acquired through formal education and work experience is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all audiences, including non-technical senior leaders, in a structured manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to structure ambiguous problems and mobilize diverse teams to solve them.
  • Leadership skills to define the root cause of issues and move people to act.
