Java Engineer Role

Job Overview:

  • Develop, enhance and maintain Java-based applications for seamless integration with various retail systems.
  • Implement RESTful APIs for efficient data exchange between systems.
  • Utilize containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to deploy, scale and manage applications.
  • Leverage cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) for deploying and managing infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to POS systems, integrations and cloud deployments.
  • Maintain high-quality code and adhere to best practices and coding standards.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in Java development.
  • Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring).
  • Demonstrated experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS or Azure, including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with retail POS systems, particularly APTOS or Oracle XStore.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
