About the Role


In this role, you'll report to our Sr. Engineering Manager for e-commerce. As a Staff Engineer, you'll bring a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to our team. You'll make key architecture decisions, lead projects, mentor engineers, and contribute to strategic decisions that shape our organization's future.


Core Areas of Responsibility



  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of solutions on our e-commerce platform.
  • Ensure our engineering practices align with company standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Take ownership of architecture, offering comprehensive system perspectives and design direction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and efficient backend solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending their adoption where appropriate.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions, providing technical insights.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve our engineering development lifecycle.

About You



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with at least 12 years of technical engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in leading and delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, AngularJS, Bootstrap, and SFCC Scripting (ISML, Pipelines, Controllers).
  • Experience with SFCC Business Manager configuration and customizations.
  • Familiarity with integration technologies such as REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Experience working with vendors/contractors is a plus.
