Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA Position Overview

As a highly skilled Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, including sizing, scaling, and automation of database resources.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.
  • Maintain and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.
Requirements:Mandatory Skills:
  • Azure Administration
  • MS-SQL Administration
  • Upgrade, Migration, Encryption of MS-SQL Instances

You must have 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL databases. Experience in designing and architecting public clouds such as Oracle OCI or Azure is required. Hands-on experience with managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, network, and security is essential. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) is necessary. Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques is also required. Familiarity with automation tools and scripting, such as PowerShell and Azure CLI, is beneficial.
