Optometrist Position

This role involves delivering engaging lectures and course material in optometry, assessing student performance and providing feedback, as well as conducting research and publishing findings.

  • Lecture Delivery: Create and deliver high-quality lectures and course materials for students pursuing a degree in optometry.
  • Student Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and mentor students on academic and career paths.
  • Research and Publication: Conduct original research, analyze data, and publish findings in reputable academic journals to contribute to the field of optometry.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in optometry through ongoing professional development activities and workshops.
  • Collaboration and Community Engagement: Collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental and university initiatives, and engage with the broader community through outreach and public education programs.
  • Supervision and Compliance: Supervise laboratory sessions and clinical practice, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution, an active optometry license in the relevant state or jurisdiction, and demonstrated experience in teaching at the university level.

A strong record of scholarly research and publications in optometric fields is also essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in leadership roles, professional organization involvement, and expertise in specific areas of optometry.
