Optometrist Educator and Researcher

We are seeking an exceptional Optometrist to lead our educational and research programs. As a Professor of Optometry, you will be responsible for creating engaging lectures and course materials, assessing student performance, and mentoring students on academic and career paths.

In addition to teaching, you will conduct original research, analyze data, and publish findings in reputable academic journals. Your expertise will stay current with advancements in optometry through professional development activities, ensuring your knowledge is always up-to-date.

You will collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental and university initiatives, and contribute to the academic community. Your leadership skills will enable you to supervise laboratory sessions and clinical practice, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

This role also involves engaging with the broader community through outreach and public education programs, promoting the importance of optometry and its applications.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution, an active optometry license in the relevant state or jurisdiction, and demonstrated experience in teaching at the university level. A strong record of scholarly research and publications in optometric fields is essential.

Preferred qualifications include experience in leadership roles, professional organization involvement, and expertise in specific areas of optometry, such as ocular disease or pediatrics.

Essential Qualifications:

PhD in Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution

Active Optometry License in the relevant state or jurisdiction

Demonstrated Teaching Experience at the university level

Strong Research Record and publications in optometric fields
