Backend Software Engineer Position

This role is for a senior backend software engineer to join our team in designing and developing scalable back-end systems that support maritime operations.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems.

Your expertise in backend technologies will be crucial in delivering high-performance and scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to efficient software architecture design and development.
  • Take ownership of product lifecycle from conceptualization through deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices including unit tests.
  • Build reusable modular code and libraries for efficiency and consistency.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices ensuring data protection regulations compliance.
  • Maintain technical documentation for all systems and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong programming foundation in Python including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in web application and API development using frameworks like Django or Flask.
  • Expertise in secure software development handling sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development requirement gathering system design implementation testing deployment and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture focusing on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache / Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache Nginx or other web/app servers.
  • Experience in containerization tool - Docker.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise-level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in writing reusable code and libraries.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.

  • Knowledge of secure coding practices handling sensitive data.
  • Ability to design scalable efficient backend systems.
