About this Opportunity

We seek a seasoned Data Centre Expert to lead the end-to-end planning, design, and execution of high-availability data centre projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in DPR preparation, technical architecture, vendor management, and RFP/bid process management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies, as well as monitoring and managing project deliverables, milestones, and SLAs across the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • DPR & Planning:
    • Prepare comprehensive Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for new or upgrade data centre projects.
    • Conduct requirement gathering and feasibility studies aligned with business continuity goals.
  • Design & Architecture:
    • Create high-availability data centre designs covering compute, storage, networking, cooling, power, and physical security.
    • Define architecture and sizing based on workloads, virtualisation strategies, and scalability plans.
  • Vendor Selection:
    • Draft RFP/RFQ/RFI documents for infrastructure and software vendors.
    • Evaluate vendor proposals technically and commercially; coordinate pre-bid meetings and support techno-commercial evaluations.
  • Project Management & Execution:
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
    • Monitor and manage project deliverables, milestones, and SLAs across the lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder & Compliance Management:
    • Collaborate with IT teams to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data centre design, planning, or project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards such as TIA-942 and Uptime Institute Tier Certification.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or CDCP.
