Job Description

We are seeking a technical leader to drive the engineering chapter and define the technical roadmap. The ideal candidate will have expertise in large-scale distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms.

  • Define the technical roadmap and ensure alignment to reference architecture, enterprise data standards, and modernisation priorities.
  • Pave the way for squads to deliver autonomously at pace by removing technology blockers, decoupling applications, and streamlining processes.
  • Plan, define, and design solutions; assist squads in identifying the right technologies and ensuring sound architectural decisions.
  • Work with chapter leads on defining and forecasting crew tech capability requirements. Support implementation of practices, tooling, and training provided in the crew.
  • Drive operational excellence and support teams in charge of mission-critical production services with diverse stakeholders and complex dependencies.
  • Drive good design, refactoring, and technical debt elimination. Ensure technical debt and associated impacts are visible to crew and work with POs to reduce it over time.
  • Ensure delivery within agreed-upon parameters, active management, and mitigation of delivery and delivered risk.

Tech Skills:

  • Broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks with experience or exposure to some of these setting you up for success in this team: large-scale distributed systems, Microservices, Rest API Integration, Cloud - AWS large scale data warehouse implementation experience, designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML and Gen AI applications and how they can enhance software engineering processes to improve productivity.
  • Experience building RAGs using LlamaIndex, LangChain, or similar frameworks.
  • Preferably have experience building Agentic AI systems using AutoGen, CrewAI, Pydantic, or similar frameworks.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or C#) and experience developing microservices architecture on cloud platforms (AWS & Azure).
  • A keen interest in researching new AI tooling and daily user of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Continue, GitHub CoPilot, Aider, Cline, etc.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Anthropic Claude, Llama, LiteLLM, Cursor, windsurf / Codeium, VO Vercel, Continue, Aider, Cline, Langchain, Langgraph, Hugging Face highly desirable.
  • Strong technical leadership skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders to solve business-critical problems.
  • Ability to provide technical direction to teams, reviewing designs and code to ensure best practices.

Proficiency in agile development methodologies and iterative experimentation from ideation to prototype to pilot to product.
